Sports Injuries

At Physio-Wise we treat many different and sometimes unusual sports injuries. In your initial assessment our physiotherapist will want to know how your injury happened (if you do know) and your injury symptoms.

After the assessment, your physiotherapist will be able to diagnose your injury and possibly advise you on contributing factors to your injury.

During your treatment, it is likely that your physiotherapist will give you some specific exercises to accelerate your recovery and they may be able to advise you on certain products which will help your injury to recover faster.

AFX – Ankle Rehabilitation

At Physio-Wise we are excited to be able to offer you the very best in ankle and lower limb sports rehabilitation. Traditional training programs designed to improve athletic performance such as agility, running speed, and jumping ability have focused on strengthening the larger muscle groups of the upper and lower legs.

However, the importance of the intrinsic muscles of the feet and the smaller muscles of the ankle are often neglected as their importance is not always fully recognised, and they can be difficult to strengthen effectively.

How does the AFX help?

The AFX has been scientifically proven to improve multi-directional dynamic balance and vertical jump.

Taping

All of our physiotherapists are trained in both dynamic and rigid taping techniques.
